Style Consult for an Hourglass

First I want to say that I’m sorry that I didn’t post yesterday my style consultation it got a little crazy but I got it done. My model for today is my cousin Vanessa I have to thank her for letting me style her since she is a mom and a wife there is not time in her schedule to change things, but she managed to squeezed me inJ. First I had to determine her body type; I measured her shoulders, bust, waist and hips. She was the shape we both thought she was but I still had to measure to make sure. She is an hourglass, broad shoulders, defined waist, hips and bust almost the same size. As you can see at the beginning I put her on a night outfit that she can go to casual dinner with but I realized that the shiny shirt wasn’t working for an hourglass; it didn’t accentuate her most flattering assets so we both decided she should try on a daytime outfit that I had for her.

The daytime outfit I loved how it looked on her, first of all the colors are perfect for her skin tone and they are fall’s new must. The Cobalt blue sweater goes perfect with the hot pink long sleeve shirt she had underneath, both are scoop neck so there was space for a colorful necklace. Hourglasses have great legs so they have to find pieces that show off those great accents that many girls envy. I put her on some dark blue jeans balancing the blue sweater so it looks proportioned on the top and bottom, since hourglasses are curvy and I didn’t want to overdo it. It’s recommendable to use darker colors at the bottom and lighter at the top for an hourglass gal (but remember you don’t have to what makes you most comfortable). To finish off I put her on light mustard pumps, she told me that ever since she bought these pumps she couldn’t find anything to wear them with, so I was persistent to find an outfit to go with this. If you are not daring with color you can also ended with a nude pump to neutralize the outfit and gives it a chic look. Now she says it’s a perfect outfit to wear for work on Friday Jean day.
